Foodie Friday ~ Simple Sweet Scones

Foodie Friday is presented by Gollum at
"Designs by Gollum". Visit her site for more
fabulous recipes:)
Put flour, baking powder and salt into large bowl. Stir to mix well.

Add butter and cut in with pastry blender or fingers until the mixture looks like fine granules.

Add sugar, toss to mix. Add milk and stir with fork until soft dough forms.

Add Lavender.

Form dough into a ball.

Put onto lightly floured surface and give 10-12 kneads.

To make round scones,

roll out dough and

cut with 2: round cutter. Sprinkle with white sparkling sugar.

Bake 12 minutes or until medium brown on top. Put on wire rack, cover with cloth, cool completely.

I wrapped them individually.

Put them into a cloth lined basket.

Then added napkins, Lemon Curd (butter knife), Raspberry tea and tea pots.

Placed all into a larger basket and I headed off to work for an
8:00 am breakfast meeting. My co-workers loved it.
Here is the recipe:
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons or stick cold unsalted butter
1/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup milk
2 tablespoons McCormick's Lavender
Sprinkle with Wilton White Sparkling Sugar
Heat oven to 425 degrees.
You would not believe the wonderful taste the Lavender gives these scones. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

This would make such great gifts. I don't have any lavender left in my garden I dont' think. I will have to check that out because these look delish.

These scones look so good. Wish I had one right now.
I hate you wrecked with a deer!! The same thing happened to my husband a couple of weeks ago, but only messed up the side...the crazy deer ran into the side of his car. It is amazing the damage they can do. I'm glad you're okay.

Your scones recipe sounds very intriguing, with the lavender added! I've always loved the smell of lavender, now I can see how it tastes!!

Sorry about your car accident too! How scary!!
I nearly hit a deer once myself!

Take care,
Sherri:)

What a wonderful idea. Your scones, with that touch of lavender, sound wonderful, but I especially love the way you presented them to your co-workers. I'm so glad you weren't hurt in the accident. That had to be scary.

I bet they love when you come to work bringing the breakfast:) It all looked so lovely in the basket. Sorry about the Deer incident. I hit one and it flew up and then came crashing back into my window. Then it picked himself up and ran across the street and passed out. A large Rotweiler dog was chasing it and then it tore the deer into shreds. So traumatic that my daughter and I still have nightmares about it. Luckily you were safe and the car can be fixed or replaced. That part will give you a headache for sure:) The airbag things can scare the heck out of anyone. Thankfully they were invented just for these deer hittings:)
