5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

Earlier this month I found this recipe over at"Days at Buttermilk Cottage". As she wrote....Something Fun to Try! So I did and it was great!

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

Start by combining in a bowl

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Hershey's cocoa
add 1 egg and mix thoroughly
pour in 3 tablespoons milk
add 3 tablespoons oil and mix well
add a splash of vanilla extract
mix again
pour into a microwave safe mug

Place mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but that's ok....it's supposed to do that. Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a place. My cake served 3 and I added whip cream.

OOh, the strawberry pie sounds great too!

This cake is my go to when I need a quick fix. Love it. I can't believe I hadn't heard of it until a couple of years ago. Have a wonderful Easter.

I've always wanted to try one of these types of recipes. Thanks for the details. It would be perfect for just the two of us.

Thank you, too, for your strawberry pie recipe. I've saved it & hope to make it this coming week.

fondly,
Rett

I got one of these for a secret Santa gift at Christmas (the dry ingredients are in the mug and I have to add the wet), but I haven't made it yet!
